Two markets, one card, two prices. We matched 398 One Piece printings that exist on both the English and Japanese sides and compared what each one actually sells for. The median gap was 54%. The cards below sit well outside that.
Where the gap is widest
Trafalgar Law [Treasure Rare] ST10-010 is the extreme case at 87%: $13.38 on the japanese side against $102.32 on the other. Most of this list runs the same direction, with the Japanese printing cheaper.
The full table is below, with every price measured rather than estimated.
What a gap is not
A gap is not a profit. Shipping, import duty, payment fees and the weeks a card sits unsold all come out of it before anything is left. A 40% spread on a $60.00 card is comfortably eaten by all four.
A gap is also not always an opportunity. A printing that is cheap in one market is often cheap because that market has more of them, and the price is telling you something true about supply rather than offering you something free.
How to read the table
The pairs are matched on collector number and printing, so an alternate art is compared against the same alternate art and never against its base. Anything more than eight times apart is discarded before it reaches this list, because at that distance it is far more likely to be two different cards sharing a number than a real spread.
